Beginners Course. 3 x hours 1 1/4  hour session max 4 people

In light of the challenges we have faced in coordinating classes with multiple unrelated participants, we have made the decision to offer one-to-one courses. These courses will consist of three sessions, each lasting one and a quarter hours. Upon receipt of payment for the course, we will work with you to identify a mutually convenient time and day for your first session. Subsequent sessions can be scheduled once the initial session has been completed. In the event that multiple participants from the same household are interested and can agree on a suitable day to attend the sessions, we can accommodate up to four individuals.

We provide a structured progressive training regime using Olympic style take down recurve bows tailored to suit each person. After completing your training, you can approach any archery club to become a member, although we cannot guarantee membership of any clubs and they may wish to put you through a safety check before allowing you to join. For insurance purposes the minimum age for this course is 12 years old.

On the course you will learn :-

  • Safety equipment what it’s for and how to use it
  • Range safety rules
  • How to assemble a bow
  • Using T Draw technique, anchor point and correct posture
  • How to shoot bare bow style and then progressing to using a sight
  • How to safely collect arrows
  • Scoring a match
  • How to disassemble and store equipment
  • Just for fun we will also introduce you to different styles of bows

All participants perceived to be both safe and competent will be awarded a certificate of completion as proof to potential clubs that you have completed a beginners course.

Please note, this course is not an archery experience, it is for those who wish to learn the technicalities of archery and how to shoot correctly. We do not suggest gifting this to a person who has not expressed an interest in learning archery.
